At Hami Educational College, we follow the International Primary Curriculum, also known as iPrimary. This curriculum is designed for students aged 3 to 11, continuing or adult students. It provides a consistent learning journey from primary through to secondary education.
The curriculum includes resources for various subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science, Computing, Global Citizenship and Kiswahili. It also offers both internal and external assessments to track student progress.
International Primary
We offer quality preparatory education in our institution where every child is encouraged to achieve his or her best in and outside the classroom. At our preparatory school, we offer International Primary, a British System, leading to an optional external examination at Year 6. Subjects offered are English, Mathematics, Science, Computing, Global Citizenship and Kiswahili.
The International Primary (iPrimary) is a comprehensive, thematic, and creative curriculum designed for children aged 5 to 11, continuing and adult students. Here are some key points about the iPrimary:
Holistic Development: The iPrimary supports the holistic development of learners, focusing on both academic and personal growth.
Global Learning Focus: It emphasizes global learning, helping students understand and appreciate different cultures and perspectives.
Thematic Units: The curriculum is organized into thematic ‘Units of Learning’ that cover various subjects such as English, Kiswahili, Mathematics, Science, Computing and global citizenship.
Personal Goals: The iPrimary aims to develop eight personal goals in students: enquiry, resilience, morality, communication, thoughtfulness, cooperation, respect, and adaptability.
There is NO minimum requirement to enroll as a student in the International Primary (iPrimary). However, ability to read, write and/or speak English will get you enrolled into grade 4.
