International GCSE has two levels: iLower Secondary (Years 7, 8 and 9) and iMiddle Secondary (Years 10 and 11). The iLower Secondary students must take 5 compulsory subjects: English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics plus additional elective options. iLower Secondary is the first year of IGCSE preparation, and students begin selecting some optional subjects.
Years 10 and 11 make up the Middle Secondary Level. Here, students must select a minimum of 6 subjects to study for their IGCSEs. Students select these subjects in Term 3 of Year 9, allowing them plenty of experience in the classroom in order to make informed decisions.
